Hollywood divas who wooed Bollywood heros!

 • Golshifteh Farahani
After having bagged a role in the film to be based on Dan Brown’s book ‘Inferno’ (Tom Hanks is his co-actor in the film), Irrfan Khan made sure that he was in the news again. This time it was for another film to be directed by Anup Singh (the maker of the critically acclaimed ‘Qissa’) where the intense actor will be featured opposite Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani. Golshifteh was noticed for her intense portrayal of Aisha in Ridley Scott’s ‘Body of Lies’. The presence of Leo Di Caprio ensured that the publicity of film was splashed everywhere and everyone saw it. With films like Exodus and Jon Stewart’s ‘Rosewater’ she is now part of the big league.

 • Barbara Mori
Barbara Mori was a Mexican import to India and her debut Hindi film featured none other than Hrithik Roshan. It was wrong judgment on Mori’s part that she decided to be part of Anurag Basu’s ‘Kites’ which later on proved to be a blot on Hrithik’s career. There were also reports of a torrid affair between the two when the shooting of the film was on. Though not entrenched in the Hollywood film circuit yet, the Mexican beauty has ample TV work in her CV.

 • Brande Rodericks
Riteish Deshmukh in his very second film (Out of Control) of his career got an opportunity to star opposite a foreign import. Brande was part of the immensely successful ‘Baywatch’ TV series. Even before ‘Baywatch’, Brande had managed ample amount of publicity thanks to her appearance in Playboy. She tried her best but was simply unable to hit the big league with her minor appearances in several TV series. She is now just a footnote in the annals of Hollywood.

 • Helen Mirren
Rather than 'paired' with each other, they were more like 'opposite' each other. The movie 'The Hundred-Foot Journey' saw two legends - Om Puri and Helen Mirren - sharing screen space. There is nothing much left to say about the acting prowess of Helen Mirren. A best acting Oscar for 'The Queen' and films like 'The Last Station', 'Gosford Park' are few of the many gems she has given audiences in her stellar career. This much respected actress of Hollywood has done it all and seen it all.

 • Ali Larter
The current generation may find it amusing to know that even our own desi megastar Salman Khan was once part of a Hollywood film, Marigold. We are pretty sure that the Bhai of the industry too must have forgotten his Hollywood debut. The actress who worked opposite Salman was Ali Larter. Ali started her career in the TV industry and later on switched over to films and was part of the 'Final Destination' series of films. Despite having earned success with her films raking in moolahs at the box office, her career did not move ahead. Currently she keeps herself involved with minor roles in films and TV series.

 • Alice Patten
The now-cult film 'Rang De Basanti' saw Aamir Khan paired opposite Alice Patten, a British actress. Vis-a-vis the Hollywood actresses who have starred opposite Indian actors, she could be considered a fairly successful actress with stuff like 'Downton Abbey', 'Our Girl', 'The Musketeers' and 'Merlin' under her belt. Alice Patten was more focused on her TV career and managed to reap dividends with her unwavering devotion towards the TV industry.
