Dishkiyaoon: Film Review

Film: Dishkiyaoon

Cast: Harman Baweja, Sunny Deol, Ayesha Khanna, Prashant Narayanan and Aditya Pancholi

Director: Sanamjit Singh Talwar

Rating: ****

'Harman Baweja packs a punch, in this impressive gangster saga!'
What it's all about:

Viki (Harman Baweja), an only child, feels neglected and lonely after his mother passes away. With his father having no time to spare for him, the young boy looks towards gangster Mota Tony (Prashant Narayanan) to face bullies in school. He grows on to become a gangster and lands in jail only to meet the ageing don Lukwa (Sunny Deol), under whose influence Viki becomes Viki Kartoos.
What's Good:

Harman Baweja is back with a vengeance! From getting into the skin of the character to an impressive six-pack-abs, Harman looks better than ever. In spite of the presence of a heavyweight in Sunny Deol, Dishkiyaoon is all about Harman, and he doesn't disappoint. Audience will love this new Harman - a much improved, confident, at ease and rock solid!

The gangster saga also pays off thanks to some deft direction from Sanamjit Singh Talwar and Sunny Deol's trigger happy finger. Deol will stun you with his thick Haryanvi accent, and we must say a perfect fit for the role of Lukwa.

Also, kudos to producer Shilpa Shetty, for choosing a daring script, rather than playing it safe for her maiden production venture.

All elements, from casting, to music and to direction, fall into place and we get an impressive, if not a brilliant film in Dishkiyaoon.

What to do:

Harman Baweja packs a punch, in this impressive gangster saga!
