Have we ever taken decisions, made choices or done anything in our life without wondering 'log kya kahenge'? Our life is centered around society. Rich or poor, high or low, we not only live in a society, but are somehow dominated by it.
The high flying Mehra family belong to the elite club of Delhi. To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Kamal Mehra (Anil Kapoor) the quintessential flamboyant businessman and his wife Neelam Mehra (Shefali Shah) take their 'close' friends on a cruise trip abroad. Being the son of the family, Kabir Mehra (Ranveer Singh) is assumed to take over the business empire soon. Their daughter Ayesha (Priyanka Chopra) runs a successful business and is in a loveless marriage with Manav Sangha (Rahul Bose). Like every family the Mehra's have their own problems which they chose to brush under the carpet instead of facing upfront.
Hilarity ensues as each character's reactions are often funnier than the situations itself. However, the family dog, Pluto Mehra's point of view takes the cake!
With a subject so mundane, Zoya Akhtar manages to enthrall you with an amazing story, a stellar star cast and brilliant performances.
Although it may seem like a brouhaha of 'rich people problems', DDD manages to make a poignant effort to make you care.

Anil Kapoor's trademark reply to how are you, will make you feel 'on top of the world' after the film ends. The assertion of his authority, being the man of the house is established with every scene in growing magnitude. Because of his uncompromising attitude, his children hardly have a say in matters of their own life. Playing his subdued wife, Shefali Shah manages to stun us with her 'underplaying-act'.
This can easily be deemed as Priyanka Chopra's best performance till date. Her character wins your heart with the utmost poise and subtlety.
If you haven't already fallen in love with Ranveer Singh, Dil Dhadakne Do might change that forever. His boyish charm spills magic. He can win your heart with his expressions alone. There are many instances in the film where you begin to think if he is even 'acting', as he just seems to be his natural self.
Slightly disappointing are Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar only because they have relatively less screen time in the film. She plays a professional dancer and Ranveer's love interest while Farhan plays Priyanka's childhood long lost love.
Filling in the silences with an array of emotions, the background score works like magic.
Shankar Ehsaan and Loy's 'Gallan Goodiya' and 'Swing' are a visual delight.
But for a film almost so perfect, an open ended climax might have caused a slight imbalance of sorts.

Our  Verdict:
In their own dysfunctional way, the Mehra's will win your heart. So don't worry, 'log kya kahenge?' You just cannot afford to miss this one!
