Sanjay Dutt's plea rejected!

Bollywood's Munnabhai, Sanjay Dutt, who had recently pleaded for relief in the 1993 Mumbai blast case, has returned with his hopes crushed. The Supreme Court has finally dismissed his plea for seeking review of its judgment on his conviction and five-year jail term.
The reviewing plea, which was delivered on the March 21 verdict, was refused to be reviewed by a bench of justices B S Chauhan and P Sathasivam. Sanjay Dutt has to surrender on May 16, before the jail authorities and has to serve the remaining three and half years from the five years jail term.
The actor is left with just one chance now. His only option of getting relief from the court is by filing a curative petition.
Dutt was found guilty by the TADA court for the 1993 Mumbai blast case and was charged for illegal possession of a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle. These weapons were part of a consignment of weapons and explosives brought to India, which was used for the Mumbai serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured over 700 in 1993.
