Milkha Singh gets a call from Carl Lewis

Latest Bollywood flick Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is not just a success in India but has also managed to grab attention abroad. Recently, the movie was appreciated by none other than former track and field star Carl Lewis.
The 52-year-old athlete, who has won nine Olympic sprint golds, was so deeply moved by the biopic that he found out Milkha Singh's number and gave him a call.

The film's director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra confirmed the story, "Yes, Carl Lewis indeed rang up Milkha Singh after seeing the film. We all hoped Milkhaji's life-story would make an inspirational impact. But we never imagined the impact would be so widespread."

Farhan Aktar who plays the lead role of in the biopic, took to Twitter to confirm the call to the Indian sprinter from America. 'Wow!! Milkha-ji got a call from Carl Lewis today after watching @BMBThefilm,' he tweeted.

Milkha Singh, also called The Flying Sikh, who is best known for his tear-jerking fourth place finish in the close 400m final in the 1960 Olympics said, "I don't know how he arranged my Chandigarh's number. That's really nice of him"

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, has become an all-India success with the total collections over the weekend going up to Rs 33.35 crore.
