John Abraham honoured for Madras Cafe

John Abraham's hit flick Madras Café has won him the 'Pride of the Nation' Award. John was given the award on Monday in New Delhi, for his effort to bring up the sensitive issue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination through his role as a RAW agent in Shoojit Sircar's Madras Cafe.

Constituted by Anti Terrorist Front, the award was presented to Abraham by its chairman M S Bitta at the ceremony."Through Madras Café, Abraham made a courageous attempt to unravel the conspiracy behind the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi," said Bitta.

Madras Cafe is a political espionage thriller, which is set during the time of Sri Lankan civil war and the assassination of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
