India sends The Good Road to Oscars

Gujrati film The Good Road has been selected to be India's official entry for the Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars, next year.


Supran Sen, The Film Federation of India's secretary general said that the decision to select The Good Road was a unanimous one.
The Good Road had won the the National Award for Best Gujarati Film this year. Director Gyan Correa said, "It's staggering, fantastic, I don't know what to say."


The film was produced by the National Film Development Corporation. Vikramjit Roy, the movie's executive producer, said, "I am delighted - the NFDC has worked very hard on this movie."


The Lunchbox was being considered a strong contender for the Oscars, along with other films like Ship of Theseus, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, English Vinglish and the Kannada film Lucia.
