BMB goes tax free

Showing exemplary consideration to the film's far-reaching inspirational impact, the Maharashtra government on Saturday granted tax exemption to former athlete Milkha Singh's biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.   Earlier, this week the film's director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and actor Farhan Akhtar met Maharashtra's Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and sought tax concession for the film.   The tax exemption will be valid for the next six months and has been granted as the film's main objective to promote sports among youths.    The government also took into account the fact that the film has been co-produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).   Farhan plays the title role in the biopic featuring Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Prakash Raj and Pawan Malhotra.
